Construction Workers, Trade and Maintenance Workers, Crew leaders and supervisors, Safety Professionals and anyone working from heights. Entrants and attendants who enter confined spaces with potential hazards.
Course Description**
This course combines the Confined Space Entry with the Elevated Work. This confined space user level course trains you to protect yourself and others while working in hazardous environments, also is appropriate for workers with work tasks in confined spaces. Trainees will learn in hands on environment the fundamentals of working safely from heights. This course is appropriate for workers who have specific work tasks at heights with permanently engineered anchors and protection systems. ***
Confined Space Topics
- Perform entry and exit from confined spaces
- Role of entrant, attendant and supervisors
- Properly Identify Permit required confined spaces
- Using tripods and fall protection
- Atmosphere testing
- Rescue
Elevated Work Topics
- Identify fall hazards when working from ladders, stairways, and scaffolds
- Take corrective measures to ensure safe work practices
- Select and use appropriate fall protection systems
- Don the personal fall arrest harness properly
- Knowledge of harness inspection
- Suspension Trauma
*An annual refresher is recommended.
**Training shall be provided to each affected employee before first assigned duties, before there is a change in assigned duties, whenever there is a change in permit space operations that presents a hazard about which an employee has not been trained, or whenever the employer has reason to believe either that there are deviations from the permit space entry procedures or that there are inadequacies in the employee’s knowledge, per OSHA 29 CFR1910.146. Training should be provided for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The
employer shall assure each employee is trained as needed, according to 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M and 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D.
